    A rainy-day character comic

Four boxes are all you need for a small story with a beginning, a surprise and an ending.

    Fold your story page

Fold a sheet into four sections and open it again. Choose one Kiddo character and draw them in the first box. Give them a simple goal: finding a missing spoon, reaching a picnic or visiting a friend. Keep the drawings loose; stick figures and speech bubbles work well.

    Add one unexpected moment

In the second box, introduce a surprise. In the third, show what the character tries. Ask your child what happens next before you suggest an answer. A talking umbrella or a giant puddle can turn an ordinary journey into a new story.

    Finish and share

Use the last box for the ending. Write a title and read the comic aloud, with a different voice for each character if you like. Keep the page and create a second episode another day. The same four-box format works for a completely new adventure.
